After Axie Open League Season 1, many participants left with positive remarks and requests for more events to be held by Blytz Esports. Requests such as “a new event with higher stakes” or “events to be held every month” have pilled up on Blytz Esports for them to note down. These prayers have not gone unheard as Blytz Esports worked tirelessly to birth a whole new tournament with a new format. This new tournament is then dubbed the “GuildStack Invitationals”.

About the event

Partnered with GuildStack, an all-in-one guild management software that helps guild owners manage their operations easily, Blytz Esports invited 16 guilds from all across the globe to compete with one another to win rewards for their respective guilds. Organized on 19–21 April 2022, All participating Guilds sent their top 3 players into this tournament to battle it out with the other guilds in a 4-round round-robin format for 3 full days, with the last day solely for the top 4 guilds. Guilds will earn points for every round, winning one round will earn more points, and the top 4 guilds with the most points secure their spots for the top 4 and will battle it out on the last day for their confirmed positions.

This event is also the main stage for GuildStack, partners for this event, to show off the alpha stage of their guild management software. A round-table between guild leaders participating in the event was also held to talk about each guild’s models, challenges, and the competitive scene of P2E (Play-To-Earn).

GuildStack will also give out US$500 of GuildStack credits with priority exclusive access to using GuildStack’s very own platform’s beta version to all Guilds taking part in the event.

The event

The tournament was streamed and organized by Blytz Esports, The tournament gave viewers and players an interesting perspective on the Guild v Guild Esports format, which is rare in the current Axie community. A short 3-day tournament with Guilds from all ranges and sizes were competing for high rewards.

Throughout all three days, we get to witness battles between guild players against one another, using Axie tactics and card combinations of similar yet unexpected nature. From poison builds to backline killers, players made use of their Axie arsenal to give out the best outcome for them and it was so entertaining seeing these players switch out their lineups so opponents are unable to get used to their tactics. A great skill that players can learn from this tournament was “adaptation”. With only 6 registered Axie allowed for each player, the choice may seem limited to the unsuspected but it is more than enough for skilled players to mix and match combinations to keep ahead of the game. Players will not only have to face opponents with seemly unpredictable combinations but will also pick the correct Axie lineup to counter these lineups.

The battle between Ace | Chosen Ones and LongTan | Ancient8

Upon the end of the second day, All guilds would have completed 4 rounds of round-robin, and only the top 4 guilds who have collected the most points by winning will move on to day 3 to compete for their respective positions in the top 4.

Confirmed Top 4 to take part in Day 3 (Highest to lowest);
1) Chosen Ones | 8 Points Accumulated
2) Railings University | 7 Points Accumulated
3) Unix Esports | 7 Points Accumulated
4} YGG Esports | 7 Points Accumulated

It is also noted that both YGG Esports and QU3ST had the same points and were contested for a place on Day 3. Both guilds sent Enrico from YGG Esports and Sequinox from QU3ST to battle it out in one quick and decisive match with which Enrico won the duel securing the position for YGG Esports to compete on Day 3.
